The New York Disability Rights Archive\, established in 2021\, preserves the records\, stories\, and strategies of local activists and advocates. Many of these individuals helped drive the movement that led to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and continue to push for change today.\nTransportation access is the archive’s most extensively documented topic area. Each class dove into new photographic mediums including instant prints\, digital photography\, image transfers\, cyanotypes\, and layered elements of drawing\, collage\, and written text.\nLead artist Claire Gilliam taught participants about photographers who pushed the boundaries of what photography is and could be.
