SUMMARY:On the Street and in the Studio: A Creative Photo Exhibit by People with Disabilities
DESCRIPTION:On View through March 7th\, 2026\nViewings by appointment: events@positiveexposure.org\n\nThe exhibition features 25 photographs created by 13 photographers from CP Unlimited’s Progressive Visions Photo Club and West Farms Photo Works. Together\, the images reflect a wide range of perspectives—from candid moments in public spaces to thoughtfully composed studio work—highlighting the artists’ unique voices and lived experiences. \nProgressive Visions Photo Club and West Farms Photo Works are innovative programs dedicated to empowering people with disabilities through photography. Participants build technical skills\, artistic confidence\, and personal expression while learning to use a variety of tools\, including digital and mirrorless cameras\, as well as cameras with specialized shutters and adaptive mounting systems. \nThrough guided instruction and hands-on practice\, participants take part in photo outings that explore their own neighborhoods and the broader New York City area\, discovering new creative opportunities while honing their craft. These experiences foster independence\, artistic growth\, and a deeper connection to the surrounding community. \n“The exhibition is an opportunity to see how people with disabilities bring a unique perspective to the world of photography. For over 25 years we have created space where storytelling becomes more inclusive; ‘On the Street\, and In the Studio’ reflects that commitment and does so in a colorful and surprising way\,” said Rick Guidotti\, Gallery Founder and Director. \nConstructive Partnerships Unlimited (CPU) empowers people with complex needs or housing insecurity to achieve fulfilling\, dignified\, safe\, and healthy lives. IN 2026\, the organization celebrates 80 years of service and impact. \n  \nImage Description: 1.
