SUMMARY:University of Louisville: Community - based Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Introductory Panel \nChange How You See\, See How You Change is a photography exhibition that redefines medicine as a deeply human experience. Created with local participants and University of Louisville health sciences students\, this portrait collection highlights the people behind the diagnoses—celebrating their joy\, strength\, and individuality. \nEach image tells a story\, reminding us that patients are more than their conditions—they are individuals with rich lives and identities. As you explore\, we invite you to reflect on the power of empathy in healthcare and the importance of truly seeing and understanding those we care for. \nIn partnership with POSITIVE EXPOSURE\, the University of Louisville Health Sciences Office of Health Equity and Engagement\, the KornhauserHealth Sciences Library\, and the School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics\, this exhibition underscores our shared human experiences.  \n

SUMMARY:Intertwine Arts presents WOVEN TOGETHER: TOUCH
DESCRIPTION:JOIN US ON THURSDAY\, SEPTEMBER 10TH\, 5-8PM: Intertwine Arts’ Woven Together Community Exhibition – a celebration of connection\, creativity\, and the many stories woven through fiber.\n“In 2026\, we explore the theme Touch. Touch is a powerful form of communication\, connection\, and understanding. It is a way we experience the world\, share emotions\, and build relationships\, often beyond the boundaries of spoken language. \nFor many people\, touch is central to how they navigate and interpret their surroundings. People who are blind or visually impaired may experience art through texture\, shape\, temperature\, and material. \nMany autistic individuals and people with sensory differences experience touch in unique and varied ways—finding comfort\, connection\, creativity\, or even challenges through different textures and sensations. For people with disabilities\, touch can be a pathway to independence\, expression\, accessibility\, and belonging. \nThrough fiber art\, touch becomes both the process and the message. The softness of a material\, the structure of a weave\, the repetition of a stitch\, or the presence of a handmade object can invite reflection on how we connect with ourselves and each other.” \nRegister for All Events
