DESCRIPTION:What First Responders Need to Know About Individuals Living with I/DD\nVirtual Screening and Q&A\nWednesday\, February 19 at 7 pm EST\n  \n \nAccording to the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety\, 50-80% of Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) interactions involve an individual with a disability.\nEmergency Medical Responders who are unequipped to respond sensitively to individuals with I/DD risk causing preventable harm to these individuals when they are at their most vulnerable.\nThere is a critical need to train EMR teams on how to identify\, communicate with\, and serve individuals with I/DD.
