All proceeds from the Art Auction benefit the 17q12 Foundation in their goal to create a medical registry. The 17q12 Foundation represents individuals and families with chromosome 17q12 microdeletion syndrome and microduplication syndrome. Both syndromes involve the genes on the long arm (q arm) of chromosome 17 at position 12 (one-two). Impacts of the syndromes vary, but they can include neurodevelopmental: intellectual abilities ranging from typical to severe disability, speech delay, motor delay, autism spectrum disorder, seizures, hypotonia (low muscle tone), single or underdeveloped kidneys, kidney cysts, MODY-5 early onset diabetes, and more.

The medical registry is a crucial step in beginning research for these syndromes and hopefully developing better treatments and understanding. Your donations will go a long way in having real-life affects for people living with these syndromes!
