SCOTT HOVIS ll: Unfiltered Signal
Scott Hovis II’s artwork transcends conventional boundaries, quickly inviting viewers into an unconscious and immersive world of color, force, and vitality—where sensorial possibilities are infinite and timeless.
“Tourette’s Syndrome has been extremely arduous one of, if not the most, monumental obstacles I’ve had to traverse in my life. Yet rather than letting it confine me, I turn to creating abstract artwork that is chaotic and uncontrollable, just like life itself. I’ve learned to embrace my shadow—my inner, untamed self—and in doing so, I choose life over illness; will over despair.
In such conditions, art does not represent anything it simply exists as a pure expression of my inner psychic life. I turned away from the tyranny of culture and from what has been wrongly described as a disability—I turned it into part of my artistic identity.”
