Join us for an evening of film, storytelling, and community as we celebrate 18 years of ReelAbilities. We are proud to honor ReelAbilities’ founder, Anita Altman, whose vision and leadership shaped ReelAbilities into a movement where disabled voices and communities are celebrated, amplified, and empowered.
This intimate celebration supports the next chapter of ReelAbilities as we continue to expand our reach and impact during a pivotal time for disability advocacy and arts funding. Together, we’ll champion authentic disability representation in film and the arts and ensure that disability voices remain at the forefront—illuminating the stories that move and connect us all.
Event Program:
5:00 PM – Private Gallery Tour (Community Advocate level and above)
Enjoy an exclusive tour of the Disability Rights Archive exhibit, led by award-winning photographer Rick Guidotti, Founder & CEO of Positive Exposure. The evening begins with wine and appetizers as Rick shares his perspective and stories behind the exhibit.
6:00 PM – Reception
Kick off the evening with a lively reception featuring delicious hors d’oeuvres and beverages, a perfect time to mingle, celebrate, and learn more.
7:00 PM – Welcome Remarks & Honoring Anita Altman
The main program begins with heartfelt welcome remarks, and honoring ReelAbilities’ founder, Anita Altman, recognizing her vision, leadership, and dedication.
7:30 PM – Our Stories
Experience the power of storytelling as community members share their journeys through spoken word and film. Featuring: Sheila Nevins, Steve Way, Shannon DeVido and Pavar Snipe.
