Our PEARLS Initiatives

We’ve collaborated with educators to develop and facilitate PEARLS programs that amplify inclusive, celebratory storytelling. PEARLS Ambassadors have brought their voices and stories to classrooms, researchers, and nonprofits.

University of California – Irvine (UCI)

Dr. Janice Hansen, Director of UCI’s School of Education, developed a PEARLS interactive activity for her undergraduate and master’s degree students. As the mother of a daughter living with a rare disease, Dr. Hansen and her daughter are ardent advocates for education and research.

Ridgewood High School, Ridgewood, New Jersey

Teacher Jennifer Landa created a semester-long PEARLS unit for her dance students focused on redefining beauty, personality, and movement. Students first connected with PEARLS Ambassadors to engage in poem and solo portrait studies. Students later synthesized individual pieces into a group performance and concert.
