SEE ME BOOK RELEASE PARTY!
By: Amy

This weekend was my book release party for my children’s picture book, See Me.
It was fun seeing people I know reading my book and asking me to sign it. I felt proud, happy, and supported! I felt like they all really saw me!
Here are some common FAQ’s about See Me:
What inspired the book?
See Me was inspired by my friends at Studio D: Arts for Abilities at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. It’s a place where people learn to perform and express themselves. It was also inspired by my family because they always talk me through ideas about everything, especially living with a disability.
What is the theme of the book?
Inclusion, friendship, and how people can do just about anything, but it’s more fun when you do things together.
Are any of the characters modeled after you?
Yes! The character on the cover is me. She is wearing pink overalls, long sleeves, gloves, and a hat or hood like someone with XP would. I also have XP/TTD complex.
What is your favorite part of the book?
That it is accessible. For instance, there is a path in the park, with a bench for resting, and the gazebo has a ramp.
What do you hope people will Rember about your book
That having a disability isn’t as scary as it looks and if you have questions you can always ask me.
Where can I get a copy of See Me?
On Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Books a Million! Thanks for reading!!
