First Responders and Individuals with I/DD
What First Responders Need To Know About Individuals Living with I/DD
This FRAME Film was created with support from the WITH Foundation in collaboration with NYPD, The New York Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, The Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corp, and our amazing (and concerned) families.
According to the Int’l Assoc of Healthcare Security & Safety, 50-80% of EMR interactions involve an individual w/ a disability. The ARC has identified the critical need to train EMR teams on how to identify, communicate & serve individuals w/ I/DD. No national standards for mandatory training currently exist.
