Grace has a strange hobby in which she likes to watch YouTube videos for hours. The term that she used to ask me to let her watch them is “kids on slides.” I type in the phrase on YouTube and she watches. However, what’s strange about it is that I will come back an hour later to check on her and she will be watching something completely on the other side of YouTube like real life Barbie movies or game shows gone wrong. Television doesn’t take any special skills  – no paraphrasing, interpreting, critical thinking – but it does show concentration. Grace can concentrate on one specific thing or task if she is interested enough!
