My sister, Grace

Jonathan (Grace’s 17-year-old brother) writes:

Grace is my sister so I know her. I know a lot about her: her moods, her strengths and her weaknesses.  I have an advantage that some people just don’t get- she is a human being!  I see her every day trying her hardest to improve her speech, writing, and reading. She is going to learn but it is going to be at a different rate than everyone else. Her ability to acquire knowledge is distinct. She is looked at as a subject given a finite amount of time to acquire a specific amount of knowledge and as soon as that time expires she becomes nothing more than a statistic on a page. Grace’s education should not be the same as any one person because she is not the same as any one person.
