AP Calculus
By: Arielle
What have I learned today…hmm…let me ponder for a minute while my overly fatigued brain starts winding it’s gears again. I have learned that derivatives are pure evil! Unfortunately, I have to use them for the remainder of my AP Calculus AB course. I apologise in advance for non calculus students… There are two ways to solve the slope of a secant line using derivatives: there’s the long way and the short way. Long way: [f(x+h) – f(x)]/h and [f(x) – f(a)]/(x-a) are two definitions of a derivative. (I would write these formulas down. It might impress your current math teacher. ;) ) Today, my calculus Teacher decided to teach us some of the derivative rules. They were really easy. I guess explaining concepts to you all means that I understand calculus, right?!? Back to the drawing board…
