It’s Rare Disease Day! In case you don’t already know, I was born with rare chromosomal condition called Distal 18q deletion syndrome. This is when a piece of the long (q) arm of chromosome 18 is missing. Deletions of the q arm of chromosome 18 occur in an estimated 1 in 55,000 newborns worldwide, which makes me quite unique!
