All About Grace Signs:
GraceSigns, founded by Valerie R. Carter is a non-profit organization with a mission of making language FUN and EASY for ALL kids & adults too.The inspiration stemmed from Valerie’s daughter Grace who has Down syndrome and Apraxia. As a young child, Grace could not express herself. She would often come home from school unable to talk about her day. Valerie and Grace were both equally frustrated by their lack of language, and so they began to learn sign language. It was a huge breakthrough. Finally they were able communicate! Valerie decided to make the learning of sign language easier and more accessible for other kids by embedding the signs in story and music. In 2013, the first app: Sign Me A Story was created.
