Heading into Senior Year of High School

Hello guys, I haven’t sent a blog in months. However, I will more frequently now.
If you don’t know me already, my name is Elizabeth. I’m now a senior at Union Academy Charter School in NC. I used to do competitive cheer until I decided to do high school cheer for my school’s varsity cheer team. I have OCA2, this is a type of albinism that isn’t like the stereotypical one you think of when you hear the word albinism. I have more pigment and therefore, my hair is blonde and my eyes are hazel. On first glance you can’t tell I have albinism.
Things to catch you up on is that I went to my junior prom near the end of April of this year, it was so much fun. I ended my junior year with 2 B’s and 4 A’s. I took all honors classes except for 1 class. My GPA is now a 4.1 and now I’m starting to write my college essays.
Senior year summer is not fun if I’m being honest. I wish someone told me a lot sooner when to write the essays and resume, this is my biggest regret. So far I’ve written 1 common app essay about makeup. “Why makeup?” Its original, not common, and it shows a passion that I have. I’ve thought about doing early admission for NC State because it’ll show that I’m serious about them and that I really want to get in. I first wanted to get into Chapel Hill although, I probably won’t get in, but I’ll still apply there. My safety school is UNC Charlotte and I want to major in business or finance. If I were to ever make a business, it’ll probably be in personal/skin care and makeup.
Here’s a list of all the colleges I’m applying to so far.
– NC State
– UNC Chapel Hill
– UNC Charlotte
– UNC Wilmington
– College of Charleston
– University of SC
I just recently went to NOAH in Orlando, Florida. It was so much fun seeing old friends and new friends. It was also so much fun going to Disney in so long. I haven’t been since 2019. My favorite ride there is probably the newest Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Disney’s Epcot.
I also just recently got my 3rd concussion in June so I have to take it easy for the next couple of weeks. The doctor said it was ok to ride most of the rides at Disney so no need to panic.
I go back to school on the first Monday of August. I’m super nervous for what will come and I’m scared to grow up. Scared of the responsibilities that comes with growing up. Scared of the uncertainty. Scared of failure. There’s nothing I can really do is to prepare for the unexpected.
See you guys later on the next blog.
xoxo,
Elizabeth
