Montreal

My family and I went to Montreal for a few days, just because we had never been there. It was like visiting Europe because everyone there spoke French. Luckily the people working there spoke English. The first day we spent most of it in Old Montreal. Turns out the day we went, it was their Thanksgiving so not everything was open but most of the shops and restaurants were.
Our first stop in Old Montreal was the Notre-Dame Basilica. It was a very big church and was very decorative.
We took a horse drawn wagon tour of Old Montreal and the driver explained some of the history of the city.
We also went on a boat tour on the St. Lawrence River.
After that we walked around the town and did a little shopping then went to dinner. While we were walking around there was a street performer who ate fire.
The next day we went to the Biodome, Insectarium, Olympic Park and the Botanical Gardens.
The Biodome was an inside and was like a zoo. It had a jungle area and a variety of animals.
We then went to the Olympic Park where the 1976 Summer Olympics took place. We went up the Montreal Tower which gives a good view of the city and the St. Lawrence River. It’s the world’s largest inclined tower in the world and the incline is 45 degrees.
Next we went to the Insectarium which was basically a museum filled with bugs – mostly beetles and butterflies.
Botanical Gardens. The best part of it was the Chinese Gardens. It looked just like we were in China.
My parents dressed up in Chinese clothes. How embarrassing!
Lastly, we went shopping in Montreal and had dinner.
