My 22q life
By: Aine

Far from perfect then yours. Far from shiny and pretty. But I chose to fight my battles. I fight my issues head on. Life for me can be so hard. Many moons ago people would of looked at me and said you don’t have a illness you look fine. 22q is an invisible illness that’s why our mams and dads have to fight battles for us. For example I was in college trying to do my level 5 degree childcare. My own teacher said why do you need a SNA to give you help you’ll be well able to do the work. Yeah I might be well able just give me assignment and ill look at yeah like you have 2 heads. Dreadful experience in college and school. But I got through it cos my mammy fought for me. There is so much that we battle through as a parent and as a adult. So just wanna remind yeahs no life is ever perfect. There is no such thing as normal
Hi Aine!
Thanks so much for sharing about your college experience, as I am certain so many students out there can relate.
As I am writing this from the United States: What is SNA an acronym for? What types of support does SNA provide? And what supports did you find the most helpful as a student?
I look forward to your reply!
