NY, DC & The Bahamas
By: Byron
The last few months have been full of many things. Since I last blogged I have gone to New York, DC, and The Bahamas. I will go in order of what I did.
The weekend before Thanksgiving I went to NYC to visit my sister. Right after getting off the bus we went to a 10:30 showing of Catching Fire. It was the first day the movie was out, which made it so much fun to go to. After the movie we went to get something to eat at a diner connected to a hotel my moms friend is the general manager for. The next day my sister had to tutor someone and afterward we went to see a Broadway show, which was fun. After leaving the show we went to the 9/11 memorial, which neither of us had been to. I found the memorial quite amazing because I was so young I don’t remember anything about that day. I had never imagined the scale of the attacks until I was at the museum. After we left we headed back to my sisters dorm and went to bed. The following morning I caught a 7 AM bus back to Boston.
Only three days later I caught an early morning flight to DC where I was spending my Thanksgiving with my mom, sister, and stepdad. At the last minute my stepdad had to leave town, which meant it was only my mom, sister, and I for Thanksgiving. That was fine with me because I watched the Macy’s Day Parade and football games all day.
I then went back to Boston a few days later. On December 8th I turned 18. My dad wanted to celebrate in a way that I would remember for a long time. He decided to take me to the Bahamas. The reason for this was because the gambling and drinking age in the Bahamas is 18. While we were in the Bahamas we did lots of fun things. We went jet boating, swimming with dolphins, waterparks and lots and lots of other things. I also won $50 playing Roulette and Craps which was a lot of fun. I attached a picture of me and a dolphin.
