NYC Vacation Part 1

Just yesterday I got home from an awesome vacation in New York City!!! The first day that we were there we went to the Hard Rock Café, which was really cool. After we ate I went to an audition for The King and I on National Tour. It was really fun and exciting. I sang 16 bars of the song Naughty from Matilda the Musical. The auditions were held by Telsey & Company and I’ll tell you that I know I didn’t do terribly. I know that since they had asked me to sing the song a second time since I accidentally used a tiny bit of a British Accent. My mom stated that they wouldn’t have asked me to sing again if they definitely didn’t want me for the part. There were a lot of girls and a couple of boys. Pretty much all the girls looked like they didn’t want to be there but, the boys looked pretty excited. It was a really exciting experience, my first big audition! I remember that there was two people in the room, the pianist and someone else.

The next day, April 2nd, was quiet in the early morning. Then at 11:30 my mom decided to go to the tkts booth (tkts stands for tickets), which is where they sell you Broadway show tickets for 30-50% off. My mom asked if there were three tickets for Matilda the Musical, and guess what? There were! We had 2 1/2 hours until the show so we decided to look for food. We came across a place called Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, which is named after the shrimp company in the famous movie Forrest Gump. My mom told me that there was food other than shrimp, which made me happy since I don’t like seafood. Talia and I ordered pasta to share. We asked for no butter and sauce on the side. They came out with the pasta and it had butter, we then complained to the waitress and she said that they couldn’t make it without butter, so I didn’t eat that. At least Talia liked that. After that we got to eat ice cream, so ice cream was my lunch.

When we were walking to the theater I saw Gabriella Pizzolo who played Matilda a couple of years ago and currently plays Small Allison in Fun Home on Broadway. When we passed her I poked my mom and she got really mad. After I told her she understood. Then we went to he show. The show was amazing and we got to see MiMi Ryder as Matilda, and I won’t say much more for I don’t want to spoil it for anyone.

I will tell you about the rest of my vacation in another blog!
