Penn State

In my sports-loving family, the weekends can be full of excitement. Last Friday, I went up to Penn State, which is where my dad’s friend’s son Johnny goes to college. I traveled with my dad and uncle Jimbo to meet up with my dad’s friend John, who rented an RV to sleep in, since the hotels were too much money. Plus, they were sold out because there was a football game the next day at Penn St. Six hours later, we arrived and parked the car next to the lot, which was full of RV’s. We walked over to our friend John’s RV and he had the smallest RV out of everyone. After we put our bags in the RV, we all went out for dinner downtown with Johnny and his roommate Jeff. Five minutes after the food came out, my uncle was passing a plate to Jeff, and all of a sudden, the meal crashed to the floor and went everywhere. We all were laughing about it and the waitress didn’t find out until 5 minutes later when she came back. She was joking about it with us too. After we got the check, we all went back to the RV to go to bed, except for Johnny and Jeff.

The next day, we all woke up early at 7:30 to get ready for the tailgate before the Penn St. game at 12. Johnny and his friends showed up around 9:30 at our tailgate and we all were having a great time. My dad and I beat Johnny’s two roommates in Kan Jam—twice. By 11:30, everyone started to walk to the stadium to get into our seats. My dad, John, uncle Jimbo, and I were sitting on the 30-yard line behind the visitor bench a couple rows up from the field. It was an exciting game to watch and Penn St. beat Indiana. The student section screamed loudly and were wild the whole game.

Once we arrived back to the RV, my dad, uncle Jimbo, and I had to leave to go to my brother’s soccer game 2 hours away. When we pulled into town, we were looking for a hotel to stay in, so we wouldn’t have to go back into the car for another 2-hour ride to get home. Unfortunately, all the hotels were booked up so we decided to go home right after the soccer game. It was a nail biter game and it went into overtime but no one won so it ended in a tie. We hopped into the car for another 2 hours and went home. We didn’t get home until 1:00 in the morning and my uncle still had to drive back to his house, which was 45 minutes away. It was a fun and crazy weekend and I had a blast!
