Summer Garden Update!!

This summer has already been a BLAST! It doesn’t seem like a lot, but all I’ve been doing is working on Monday and Tuesday, hanging out with friends, training my animals, and traveling to see friends and family. Now that I say it……it does seem like a lot, but I really do love to have a constant schedule with just a little bit of down time to catch up on a TV show or something :). Anyways, back to the garden……with all that stuff going on and so much traveling, to be honest, I nearly forgot about my little plants and so a lot of my little seedlings died. I have managed to keep up with one avocado tree, that isn’t producing very many avocados because of all the little squirrels, and two tomato plants that have been doing ok and are starting to produce some good-looking tomatoes! I might have still gone overboard with how many seeds I got AGAIN. I think I planted so many seeds that I didn’t know what to do with them and I really don’t have a lot of patience to wait for things to take what feels like a million months to grow. So although most of the garden didn’t really work out, looking back on it now…..I really had many opportunities to do a little bit more like maybe setting up a sprinkler or starting with only two seedlings next time. I also learned how important patience is. During the beginning of the time I started a garden, I was super committed by watering daily and making sure they got proper sunlight, but after a couple of weeks when I felt like I wasn’t getting results fast enough, instead of pushing through and continuing to care for the plants I pretty much gave up on them. I’m not going to say I learned my lesson and go out to buy more plants……for now I will just commit to working with the tomato and avocado plants I already have.
