Allyson Ahlstrom Age 17 State California

If you’re traveling America’s highways on vacations keep an eye out for a big truck marked “Threads for Teens”. And if you happen to see it, honk and wave at Allyson Ahlstrom.

The 17 year old from Santa Rosa, California created “Threads” three years ago after she read a book about kids who’d taken community service to the next level. With monetary donations and clothing given by big names like Tommy Hilfiger and American Eagle Outffiters, she set up a boutique in her hometown where girls in foster care or poverty situations can go and pick out two brand new head to toe outfits at no cost. Allyson knows clothes can be important to teens’ self esteem and dignity and she wants to make a difference for girls who haven’t had a lot of material advantages. In addition to the boutique, Threads for Teens has provided 130 girls with backpacks filled with school supplies and about 100 students have had their prom dress dreams come true when they received gowns from the organization. Now Allyson’s taking her show on the road as she and her new mobile boutique plan to stop in all 48 continental states to outfit 1,000 more girls.”

See you soon!
