It’s been a while since I updated my blog! But I’m still here! It’s been pretty crazy with various health issues and waiting for procedures to happen but ANYWAY, here’s an update on how my eye surgery went.

My eye surgery went really well! The doctor only adjusted one muscle, and they are more aligned now.

I can tell that going on stairs is easier for me again. And a lot of people tell me my eyes look more aligned.

I’m not usually overly optimistic, but I was hoping for a big change in which I suddenly wouldn’t feel self-conscious about my eyes being misaligned and I would feel more confident on stairs and escalators. However, when I look in the mirror, I can still tell my eyes are uneven. I still find myself doing the “little tricks” I use to hide it. It’s a habit. It’s also a habit to be nervous on stairs. I still feel like I need to hold the railing.

I wish I could get some vision services or OT that would help me feel more confident, but my eyes are too “good” to qualify for a lot of things, even though they are too “bad” to function normally.

But on I go, plugging along. One very happy update is that I got a kitten! Her name is Luvve the 3rd. She is my comic break throughout the day. ❤️
