What’s New With Me, Part 1: DreamWalk Fashion Show

Sorry that I’ve been MIA for a while.  I have so many exciting things to catch you up on!  Back in 2018, I had the incredible opportunity of walking in a runway fashion show!!!  It was a dream come true for me!  After all, it’s not every day that people with a disability or medical condition get to do that!  I came across the DreamWalk Fashion Show after their first event.  I was blown away by their vision.  It began with two sisters from New Jersey who had always wanted to be in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but knew they would never be given that opportunity because they were too short.  While they were watching the VS fashion show one year, they had a breakthrough moment and thought that they should create their own.  Voila, the DreamWalk Fashion Show!  It is all about self-acceptance and body-inclusivity.  There are no restrictions, no specific look, gender, age, or weight.  They wanted to give the chance to shine in the spotlight to anyone.  And how moving it was to be a part of it!  To hear the other Dreamers’ (aka models) stories and to be given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of strutting down the runway.  It took place in Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love.  Last year, it moved to New York City to a bigger stage.  Who knows where it will go this year?!

We even had a live band performing!  You should go check out Zach Matari’s song “Mirror” that he wrote specifically for this show.
