ADVOCACY

ADVOCACY

This week I got to meet with Congresswoman Mimi Walters, who represents my city in the US House of Representatives. I got to talk about my point of view on the National Institutes of Health and why we need to keep supporting it. At the NIH, they do research on different rare diseases and disabilities. The NIH helps kids with special needs and their families to have a little hope in their world. I told Congresswoman Walters what this means to all the families, and that we should keep supporting the NIH and rare disease research. She was very nice and listened to everything I had to say. I think people should get involved in talking to people who can make a difference, and telling them what is important to you.
