There are certain things I can’t do having Marfan Syndrome. Lifting things over 10 pounds, going on roller coasters, playing contact sports, over exertion, etc. So working out is always a struggle because my heart rate fluctuates rapidly, and there are certain work outs I can’t do but it can’t be proven that it is unsafe for me.
Working out is a trial and error for me. BUT for my roommate/one of my best friends 24th birthday I took us to an Aerial Yoga class in Jersey City, NJ. It is something on both of our bucket lists and was an amazing experience. I luckily have found yoga, a studio only 2 blocks walking distance from my new apartment. I try to go around 2 times a week, and have really helping me!
While I loved it, even though it was rather difficult and my body hurt for about 3 days afterwards, my roommate was in dire pain for about a week!
MY suggestion, if you try it make sure to do yoga prior and take lots of advil ! I can’t wait to try it again.
