DISNEY CRUISE

DISNEY CRUISE

My family did something really special this month that combined a LOT of my favorite things: We went on a Disney Cruise! It combined Disney, characters, drawing, eating, pirates, ice cream, fish and shrimp, trivia, shows, movies, and even a little Mary Poppins. Here are some of my favorite parts:

I really liked pirate night. It was kind of like a rock concert for pirates. I dressed like a pirate. It was fun! I saw Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean and Tinker Bell. At the end of the show, Mickey flew in to save the day and there were fireworks in the sky.

I got to see three movies on the boat – Wreck-it Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and the big surprise – the premiere at sea of the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious movie, Mary Poppins Returns. There were also stage shows that were amazing! I also did a lot of reading – I was finally able to finish reading my favorite book. Surprise…I was reading Peter Pan!

Another favorite thing was food, food and more food. Mostly, breakfast, which was eggs benedict, which I never had before. It had fish on it, which was brilliant! You could also have ice cream whenever you wanted it. I tried the mango-strawberry swirl. It was fruity!

I also tried some animation stuff. First, I tried tracing Kuzco from Emperor’s New Groove. I used a light table. That was fun because I always wanted to try to draw him, and it was an easy way to do it. The not-fun part of tracing is that you can’t really put much emotion into it. I also drew the Genie in a class, and that was harder, because the teacher went a little bit fast. And, one night at dinner, I drew Peter Pan, and it was into an animation that was put into a movie that showed in the restaurant right before dessert.

As far as having XP/TTD, it was pretty safe, because all the windows on the boat were UV-tinted. Even on the sun decks, there were safe areas and various times I could do things. When we went to the private island, Castaway Cay, I wore a hood, a 50 SPF UV-spirit jersey that I got on the boat, gloves, and my long-legged swimming suit. Of course, I also had lots of sunscreen and my glasses are UV-blocking, too, and had clip-on shades. On Castaway Cay, I had a cool adventure because I got to feed stingrays! I mostly fed it shrimp and a block of fish jelly stuff. Can you believe that in 2 months, I have fed stingrays, a rhino, and seals?!

The very best part of being on the cruise was relaxing and hanging out with my family. Here is just one thing that was fun – we got to do trivia game together! I got the Star Wars question, which was “Who did Luke Skywalker meet Dagobah?” Do you know the answer? It’s Yoda! I also got “Who is the Messenger of the Gods?” If you watched Hercules, you know it’s Hermes. My family got other questions right, too. In the end, we only missed 2 questions. We won! We all got medals!

So that is the story of my Christmas vacation. I hope you had a good holiday season, too. As Mickey would say, “See ya real soon!”
