My BIRTHDAY!!!

My BIRTHDAY!!!

It was my birthday on May 1st! First, on my birthday, I went to see my XP specialist, Dr. Cunningham. I like going to her office because everyone is so nice. And she even gave me a present for my birthday. Dr. Cunningham checks all my skin. That’s important to make sure I don’t have skin cancer, since people with XP get it much more often than other people. I had one little spot on my face, that wasn’t really anything yet, and she froze it with liquid nitrogen – just like making ice cream! She also saw one spot on my leg that we just have to watch. It was a good visit! Her office is over an hour from my house, so my mom and I went to the store and got snacks for the ride home. It was my birthday, so I could pick anything I wanted! I picked lemon cake with blueberries!

The other fun birthday thing I did was go to Disneyland with my best friend, Chloe. We got there when the park opened. First, we went down Main Street and had breakfast with the characters at the Plaza Inn. We saw so many characters, and they all wished me happy birthday. At the breakfast there were some characters you never really get to see in the park, like Rafiki, Max, and the Fairy Godmother (that’s my mom’s favorite!).

After breakfast, we went to find all my favorite characters! I met MY favorite – Peter Pan! He complimented me on my outfit…mostly because I was dressed like him! We met Mary Poppins and Bert, Mad Hatter and Alice in Wonderland, Loki, Spiderman, Black Panther, Black Widow, Tinkerbell, Gaston, and more! I finally got to meet Flynn Rider, another one of my favorites. I showed him a picture I drew of him. He said I got his nose right. In total, we met 26 characters, and saw a lot more! We only rode a couple of rides, but that matter, because I really like meeting characters, so that’s what I wanted to do!

On the way out, I bought a souvenir. I bought a light up Lumiere sculpture for my room. It goes with the Chip teacup I had at home. They look cool together on my shelf.

It was a magical (and exciting!) birthday!
